R & D
As mentioned previously, mail of all sorts is more than welcome when one is on sabbatical. That being said, the people who work in R & D, Receiving & Delivery, can make obtaining the parcels challenging.
While mail is routinely perused for any unwelcome material (explicit pictures, edibles, etc.) and limits are put on the number of items that can be received daily (e.g. 5 magazines a day*) somehow, regardless of how closely one follows the rules, R & D will find a reason to return the much anticipated envelope.
Return & Deny is more accurate to describe the less than sympathetic processing of items sent from Friends of F.
Employees of R & D take pleasure in commenting on the pictures you send (they particularly get a chuckle out of scantily clad shots) and even partake in reading People and US magazines before they are passed along (note the smudged pages from Dorito dusted fingers).
Given the remote location and lack of higher education of the local employees, no need to fear them cracking open your Architectural Digest or World of Interiors subscriptions though…these will be safely forwarded….but if the mail delivery is particularly large on any given day, and the employees are anxious to get to their Bowling League, you can be assured that whatever has not been examined will be returned with no reasoning provided.
Friends of F, be patient with returned mail, Re-direct & Dispatch.
For those on sabbatical, take a deep breath, Relax & De-stress.
