November/December 2020 Donations
Looking forward to closing out a challenging year, especially for those living in a BOP facility. Lock downs, COVID scares and restricted movement have all taken a large toll both mentally and physically on the people we assist. In a small effort to support them during this difficult time more frequent magazine packets, cards, Corrlinks contact and books have been sent on a daily basis. As many Prison Library Programs The White Collar Club Handbook supports have been operating limited hours (or closed) most of this year, extra time has been focused on individual requests, including:
11/8/2020 Sent two new special request books to a woman at FMC Lexington Camp.
11/17/2020 Sent two new special request books to a woman at Lexington Camp.
11/18/2020 Sent five new dictionaries to Appalachian Prison Book Project.
“By mailing books, creating prison book clubs, and providing tuition support for incarcerated people taking college classes, APBP celebrates creative expression and defends the liberties that make it possible; champions the freedom to read and write, recognizes the power of literature to transform individuals and societies; and supports educational, vocational, and personal development for people who are locked up.” – appalachianprisonbookproject.org
