3/2020 Preparing a woman for incarceration at a Federal Prison Camp (location TBD) for a sentence of less than a year. Preparation includes not just the individual that is leaving their family, but also assisting the family left at home in the transition.

3/10/2020 Sent ten new dictionaries to DC Books to Prisons.

3/10/2020 Sent three new special request books to Prison Book Program in Quincy, MA to support a prison book club. Prison Book Clubs are becoming increasingly popular and provide not just an educational experience but also a much needed socialization aspect to incarceration.

3/10/2020 Sent five new Learning Spanish Books and five new Spanish/English dictionaries to Prison Book Program in Quincy, MA. Learning languages is a popular request while incarcerated to both help pass the time and to communicate with other individuals.

Prison Book Program is a grassroots organization that exists for one purpose—to send free books to prisoners. We’ve been doing it since 1972.

Books are crucial to the political, spiritual, and educational development of all people. Most prisons do not allow family and friends to send books into prisons. They must come from a bookstore, publisher, online retailer or a program like ours. We serve over 10,000 prisoners each year.

3/19/2020 Sent three new books to a woman at Greenville FCI Camp from her Amazon Wish List on subjects to prepare her for a career post incarceration.

3/28/2020 Sent two new books to a woman at Lexington Camp from her Amazon Wish List. Given the current Coronavirus imposed restrictions at Camps it’s more imperative than ever to engage people in reading to keep their minds active.
