7/16/2019 Sent two new books to a White Collar Advice client at Petersburg FCI Satellite Camp from their Amazon Wish List. Reading and keeping the mind stimulated when incarcerated is of paramount importance in keeping people motivated and engaged.
7/16/2019 Sent three new books to a client of White Collar Advice at Lexington Camp from her Amazon Wish List on how to forgive oneself and start planning for her life upon release. Having a plan post Camp is vital in re-engaging in society and gaining employment and reacclimatizing to society.
7/23/2019 Sent three new books to a client of White Collar Advice at Lexington Camp from her Amazon Wish List including a calendar so that she can plan her time productively at Camp.
8/8/2019 Sent the last two new books from a White Collar Advice client’s Amazon Wish list on his last month at Petersburg FCI Satellite Camp before returning home to his family and a business he started before Camp.
8/9/2019 Sent two packets of reading materials and financial lesson plans to two women at Greenville FCI Camp who are spending their time constructively teaching other ladies crucial budgeting skills they will need when returning to society.
8/12/2019 Sent two new books to a client of White Collar Advice at Lexington Camp who is currently on bed rest following an illness. While at Camp the BOP will not notify your family if you are taken to the hospital unless it is life threatening, which means you may not hear from a loved one for days and will not be updated on their status (for security reasons).
8/21/2019 Sent five new dictionaries to Appalachian Prison Book Project.
“The Appalachian Prison Book Project (APBP)—a grassroots, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization—challenges mass incarceration by providing books and education to incarcerated people and by creating opportunities for volunteers and community groups to learn more about the legal and prison systems.
Closely affiliated with West Virginia University, a land-grant research institution, APBP also provides internships and service-learning opportunities to undergraduates, graduate students, and law students, and encourages interdisciplinary research. 8/21/2019 Sent five new dictionaries to DC Books to Prisons.
“Since 1999, DC Books to Prisons has provided free books to individual prisoners. We also develop and support prison libraries. Our work is done solely by concerned volunteers on donated time and resources.” – dcbookstoprisoners.org
8/21/2019 Sent a new book on Meteorology to a client at Greenville FCI Camp so that she can use it to teach a weather class at camp to help other women prepare for their GED test.
