Crafty Con
Thoughts of a glue gun send a tremor down your spine???
Have you bedazzled anything in your wardrobe?
Are you the first in line at a Michaels sale?
Do you have a vast array of wrapping paper in a multitude of hues to match the occasion (e.g.Kelly green for St Patrick’s Day, etc.)?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions you would be eligible to become part of the CCC also known as the Crafty Con Club.
Perhaps you are inspired by Martha Stewart’s Club Fed sojourn and want to hand make all occasion cards and gifts?
Your creativity will be challenged and rewarded on sabbatical. With the limited resources available one needs to “think outside the compound” and make use of random items purchased at Fed Mart:
Purchasing some yarn and needles can lead to a bevy of beautiful items….monogramming your towels, creating a locker organizer, water bottle holder, blanket, poncho, stuffed animal, book bag, scarf, hat, booties…you name it!
Use the Uncle Sam sanctioned classes to your advantage….Beading 101 can produce bracelets, earrings and necklaces to use as gifts….Pottery 101 provides the resources to make mugs, bowls and decorative items for family and friends.
All you need is time (there is plenty of that) and the desire to create.
Perhaps after taking the Club Fed provided comic drawing class you can create a book of “funnies” for your daughter/son. No kids? Perhaps a series of more risqué comic strips for your friends to enjoy? Paper and colored pencils are in abundance…just look around….
You can learn the skills to become the next Jonathan Adler, John Derian or 21st Century Dorothy Draper!
If Gwyneth Paltrow can put together a collection of “must have” items on goop so too can you create a domain of desirables for your audience.
All you need is the desire to succeed and an open mind.
