Camp Activities
Besides the myriad of athletic activities available to you at Camp you will find ample opportunities to engage other skill sets.
Should your stay be longer than a year you will be able to volunteer to train service dogs. Yes, Fido will live with you and you will be responsible for feeding, walking and training him/her until they are ready to go to a person in need.
Allergic to dander? Only visiting for a short period of time? How about teaching courses and assisting others in earning their GED. From rudimentary math and reading skills to essay and test taking preparation.
Is Botany your thing? You could arrange elaborate flower beds on the extensive grounds or toil in the greenhouse cultivating plants to decorate Club Fed.
Looking to work up a sweat? Depending upon your location, there are vegetable gardens to plant. Home grown tomatoes, corn and green beans all to be used by the kitchen to prepare meals.
If you fancy yourself a junior Bobby Flay or Ina Garten, try your hand in the industrial size kitchen whipping up lasagna or chocolate cake.
Prefer to get down and dirty? The Maintenance Crew are always looking for volunteers to fix clogs, paint or pour cement. If one so desires, and time permitting, they can earn a Plumbing or Electrical Certificate for life after Camp.
