McDreary

Diehard WCCs are accustomed to stellar medical care from top rated physicians for treating everything from tennis elbow (the price one pays for a USTA rating of 5) to ghastly sun spots (from too many pre SPF days at Siasconset Beach).

You will be taking a break from your diamond dust facials, laser treatments and teeth whitening appointments while at Club Fed.

Thankfully as a devoted WCC you have kept to a routine prescribed by your Doctors of regular check ups and are in better than average good health.

The last thing you want to do at Club Fed is get sick, but if you do happen to chip a tooth (on candy corn from FedMart) or pull a muscle (practicing scorpion pose) don’t expect McDreamy to come to your rescue.

More than likely the resident Dentist will be sporting an ankle monitor and will specialize in extractions versus bonding and the “Doctor” on call will not have an M.D. after their name but rather a series of initials unbeknownst to you that may or may not correlate to degrees.

Should you already be on medicine it will be provided to you.  No expense is spared on dispensing pharmaceuticals to those in need.  There are those that choose to sleep their way through Camp by taking copious amounts of anti depressants which render them practically incoherent.  Remember when Aunt Gwenyth was recovering from her 2nd face lift and accidentally (?) took too many vicodin?  Yep, that type of incoherent drooling sleep- inducing pills.  This approach is not recommended for WCCs.

If your respite is less than a year it is recommended that you wait until you return home to have all of your annual check ups.  Should your stay be longer, you will be provided with annual exams (Dental, OB-GYN, etc.) courtesy of Uncle Sam.

It’s best to avoid the daily medication cocktail (unless medically necessary) and channel your energy into getting mentally and physically fit.  Some people manage to lose so much weight that they no longer need to take medicine for blood pressure or insulin for diabetes.

The underlying theme for WCCs is to manage this time successfully.  As you have done with every other aspect of your life up until this point, set out a plan that you want to achieve and make it happen.  Whether it is gaining the stamina to run a marathon, getting in touch with your inner animal spirits or simply reading every book/theory on JFK’s assassination.  Make it happen!
