Wonderful Crimson Charities (Another WCC!)

There are an abundance of ways to support members of the WCC taking sabbatical at Club Fed!

Listed below are a few of the volunteer organizations helping support education for those bearing the Scarlet F.  Some accept books but others would prefer postage or monetary donations to pay for shipping costs.

Books to Prisoners (est. 1973) is a Seattle area non-profit that mails free books to prisoners in the U.S.  Check out their website (www.bookstoprisoners.net) and Twitter feed (@B2PSeattle).

Another great provider of educational materials to women in prisons nationwide is Chicago Books to Women in Prison.  Please view their website (www.Chicagobwp.org) to see what books are needed or email them (chicagobwp@gmail.com) and follow them on Twitter (@ChicagoBWP).

DC Books to Prisons is part of the Washington Peace Center and since 1999 has provided free books to prisoners as well as prison libraries.  Please check their website (dcbookstoprisoners.org) to donate and follow them on Twitter (@B2Pdc).

Books Through Bars was established in 1990 and is an all volunteer non-profit organization that sends free books to prisoners.  Located in Philadelphia they can be reached at info@booksthroughbars.org or view their Twitter posts (@btbphilly) or check out their website for donation suggestions (booksthroughbars.org).

Inside Books Project is an Austin, Texas based non-profit founded in 1998 that sends free books and educational materials to people in Texas prisons.  Review their website (InsideBooksProject.org) or follow them on Twitter (@InsideBooksATX) or email them to find out what special requests they may have ((insidebooksproject@gmail.com).

Free Minds Book Club @FreeMindsDC, freemindsbookclub.org

CT Prison Books @CTPrisonBooks.  Website currently under development but donations can be sent to CT Prison Books, PO Box 946, Rocky Hill, CT  06067-0946
